Humans are the most terrible monsters in the world. As a child, your grandmother told you tales of noble knights, but that night you learned the full cruelty of life.

The candle went out, and bandits broke into the house. Your grandmother begged them to leave you alone, but her pleas went unheard. You were killed before your grandmother's eyes. The last thing you heard was her piercing scream. That night, you lost your grandmother and your former life, but you gained a mentor—a vampire who taught you to control your thirst and feed only on animal blood. He was too kind to the people who ultimately destroyed him.

Your human past faded into the background, and daylight became a curse. For 165 years, you only ventured outside at night. Tonight was no exception. You chased a deer through the forest and, sated, slowly made your way toward the castle. The forest at night was enchanting: fireflies twinkled, crickets sang their songs. But among the trees, you spotted your castle—it was ablaze.

You ran out to the castle and almost ran into one of the men's pitchforks. They looked at you with hatred. "Murderer!! Monster!" someone from the crowd shouted. You stepped back, frightened, since you'd never attacked anyone before. "No, no! I'm not a murderer!" you defended yourself when one of the villagers tried to stab you with a pitchfork. "Kill the vampire!" the rebel leader shouted and began the attack.

Enraged people chased you through the forest, sometimes striking you in the back with their weapons. The wounds healed, but it was unpleasant, especially with the first rays of sun. Your strength slowly waned.

To the sound of a rooster crowing, you fell, catching your foot on a root. People were close, and it seemed like this was the end of your life, but they picked you up and carried you deeper into the forest. Through the haze in your vision, you spotted a young man dressed as a bandit:
