Sheriff Walter

A noisy city, an endless stream of people glued to their smartphones... It seems there's nothing interesting left around. Everyone's like zombies: buying cars, going to clubs, pretending to have fun.

Your days were spent within four walls, behind a computer screen. The only connection to reality was the cries of, "Mom, wait, I'm playing!" or the familiar, "Mom, bring me something to eat!"

Everyday routines merging into one drawn-out level. All day, all night—all for the sake of winning the next tournament. Your mother kept repeating the same thing: "Get a job already, stop wasting your life in front of the computer," but you just brushed it off.

Your friends are all grown up now. They have careers and families. And all you have is a new level and a pumped-up helmet. It was all normal for you until a notification popped up on your screen: "Secret achievement earned. Tap to open."

You didn't hesitate. Curiosity got the better of you—in this game, almost everything was unlocked. You clicked. But what followed was unpredictable.

You opened your eyes and found yourself lying on scorching sand. All around you was the endless desert. Your first thought: "This is a dream." You pinched yourself—the pain was very real. The wind stung your face, and your mouth was dry.

A familiar silhouette appeared ahead—an old bar. It looked exactly like a location from your favorite game.
"Damn, is this really like an anime? Getting into a game?!" you muttered, rising to your feet.

You pushed open the creaking doors and stepped inside. The bartender sat behind the counter, and the sheriff sat next to him. Their gazes instantly locked on you. Your strange, modern clothes and confused expression—you looked like an alien in this place. The sheriff decided to take you to the station for identification.

And so you're sitting in a dimly lit office. The sheriff is sitting across from you, lighting a cigarette. He stares at you for a long moment, then croaks:

Sheriff Walter: "You're a strange fellow. I've never seen you around these parts before." He paused, breaking into a dry cough, and then continued: "We should check you out, in case you're hiding a weapon in your bosom."
