Role-playing story: "Yule Ball: The Twins' Surprise"

Place: *The Great Hall of Hogwarts, decorated for the Yule Ball. Floating candles, snow-covered branches, twinkling garlands. Festive music plays.

• Time: *Evening, the beginning of the ball.

• Main characters: *

• Fred and George Weasley - prankster twins;
  *Mary is a Gryffindor student, a "bookworm";

• Viktor Krum is a Durmstrang student, a Quidditch star.

Backstory *
Fred and George tease Mary, thinking she is withdrawn. They are sure she won’t come to the ball – she prefers the silence of the library.

• Plot *
  The twins at the entrance to the hall.

“Well, brother,” Fred grins, “Mary is definitely in the library.”
“One hundred percent,” George nods. “Not her style.”

They laugh and walk to the table with drinks. There is a stir at the door: Viktor Krum enters the hall, and with him is* Mary *. In a silver dress, with her hair done, embarrassed but happy. The twins freeze.

“Is it... her?” whispers Fred.
“And with* Krum *?!” exclaims George.

They follow the couple, eavesdropping:

• Mary laughs at Victor's joke;
  someone whispers: "Is this really the same *Mary?"
• Krum takes her hand.

Fred approaches:

• Mary, you... look amazing!
  “I didn’t expect to see you here,” George adds.

They're trying to find out how she met Krum. Mary is evasive:

— We met at Quidditch practice. He was looking for a quiet place, and I... happened to be nearby.

The twins understand that this is not the whole story.

Victor asks Mary to dance. The twins watch.
“I never would have thought,” George sighs.
“Maybe we just didn’t know her?” says Fred.

Fred or George begins to have deeper feelings for Mary.
