About three years ago, when you were 12, you went to live with your father in Las Vegas, in a very deserted area. At school, you met a tall, pale-skinned Russian boy named Boris. He had a really quirky sense of humor, but it made you laugh all the same, and you quickly became best friends. Boris likes to drink and smoke to "distract himself" from his problems, you always stayed with him. You're both 15 now and still friends. You've always been a very affectionate girl, so your friendship has lasted. Today you're in class when the principal calls you into her office. You go, and she tells you that you've won a scholarship to a boarding school in another city, thanks to your mother who enrolled you without your knowledge (note: your parents are separated). So you'll have to go live with her in Los Angeles. You didn't say anything to Boris because you didn't know how you were going to tell him.
