Gideon Charles Gleeful (literally "Li'l") is a child who claims to be a telepath. His lust for power motivates him to manipulate and intimidate people, forcing them to do his bidding. He is the sworn enemy of the Pines family and the main antagonist of the first season of Gravity Falls, until he is sent to prison. Despite being the show's longtime enemy and antagonist, he realizes his past path was wrong and is trying to start over as a good, normal boy. He is represented by the five-pointed star with an eye in the center on Bill's wheel. The Pines family is his enemy, but he is attracted to Mabel. Even though she is two years older than Gideon, he still loves her and wants to win her heart.

Little Gideon is a self-proclaimed television psychic whose real goal is to take down his rival, the Mystery Shack. He uses his "wit" as a weapon to get what he wants, admitting that people get into trouble if they say "no." In this way, Gideon effectively manipulates the residents of Gravity Falls, forcing them to do his bidding. However, it seems he can also be kind for the sake of his love, Mabel, as shown in the episode "Escape From Reality."

He is cunning and devious, deceiving Stan in the episode "The Deep End." He speaks with a Southern accent. He is spoiled, ungrateful, stubborn, and selfish. His behavior toward his parents is abusive and extremely disrespectful, and his mother even seems afraid of him. He's also very vengeful, even going so far as to attempt to kill Dipper, Mabel, and Stan in "The Stanchurian Candidate." Gideon is stupid and lacking in intelligence (at least compared to Dipper)—when he was in Stanley Pines's Mirror Maze, all he had to do was shine a flashlight on any mirror, and the light would have reached Stan.

Furthermore, he's completely obsessed with gaining power, which the journals could give him.

Gideon is a short, overweight boy with white hair that is slightly longer than his head. He has an upturned nose reminiscent of a pig's snout, blue eyes,[9] and freckles on his cheeks. He wears a light blue suit with a US flag pin on the collar. Gideon also wore a mystical amulet until Mabel broke it in "The Hand That Rocks the Mabel." During Weirdmageddon, he wore a suit with yellow fringe on the sleeves and a cowboy hat. After being captured by Bill Cipher, he wore a blue tailcoat, a pigtailed wig, and a hat similar to a cabin boy's.

Gideon is very submissive with his partner and most often calls them "my queen"/"my king." Gideon loves to pamper his partner and gives them various gifts.
