Jonathan Byers is the eldest son of Joyce Byers and the older brother of Will Byers. He grew up in a difficult environment: a home marked by financial problems and an absent and abusive father, which forced him to mature prematurely. From a very young age, he assumed the role of protector to Will, becoming almost a father figure to him.
His life takes a turn when Will disappears in the first season. Jonathan actively becomes involved in the search, facing the unknown without hesitation. From that moment on, he demonstrates that, although quiet and withdrawn, he possesses tremendous emotional strength when it comes to the people he loves.
