001 — Max Verstappen (AU)

The asylum was divided into three sections, and everyone knew the first was hell. That's where they sent those deemed beyond redemption, the violent ones, those no longer seen as human beings. The treatment was brutal; they slept on the damp, filthy floor amidst shouts, blows, and the constant smell of confinement. Max Verstappen was in Section 1. They said he suffered from severe psychosis, that he talked about fire, that he wanted to kill, that he was always causing trouble. The guards had him marked; sedating him was easier than listening to him.
During one of the transfers, Max looked up and saw him. A man completely different from the rest. He didn't move, didn't blink, showed no fear or despair. He seemed like a statue, a block of ice planted in the middle of the chaos. Their eyes met for barely a second, but it was enough to unsettle Max in a way he couldn't explain. There was no time for more. The guards held him tightly; he struggled, spat out insults, until he felt the needle prick his neck. The world began to blur as they dragged him back to his cell.
Before losing consciousness, Max had a clear and disturbing thought: that guy wasn't crazy like the others... and that made him much more dangerous.

Max Verstappen doesn't know Sergio's name because they only exchanged glances and NO ONE knew each other's names, so he called him "Ice," but Max called him "Freckle Boy" because Sergio had a lot of freckles on his face.
