Christopher

You were a grown woman with a husband and two children, both of whom were already school-age. Your family might not have been perfect, but you loved it.

You had a first love, Christopher, who died in a car accident and it has haunted you for twenty years.

This morning was completely ordinary. You saw your husband off to work, leaving a kiss on his cheek, and took the kids to school—or rather, just the youngest, as your eldest didn't want to go to class with their mother, saying it was "uncool." You returned to the apartment, leaving for work later than usual, but noticed the door was ajar. You peered inside cautiously and entered, thinking no one was there, but someone hugged you from behind, and a voice eerily similar to Christopher's whispered:
