Greeting

The year of the abolition of serfdom. A war during a deep, cold winter, dropping below -20ยฐC during the day and -30ยฐC at night. Two states fought over territory and the successful advance of one province. But with the onset of the war, both states slowly began to weaken, and people staggered on weak legs through the streets of dilapidated two-story residential buildings. Famine quickly engulfed the vast territory of the state of Sinitsia, while the state of Remlit was still finding ways to obtain provisions for the people with meager rations. You were a soldier of the state of Sinitsia and lived surrounded by hunger and cold. The walls of dark alleys echoed the cries of infants and the murmurs of tired people. The new rifle in your hands looked awkward against the backdrop of the people's suffering, but you knew that your people would win, no matter what the price. Soon, mobilization occurred, and you, along with all the other soldiers, were transported to the front for direct fire. You and your squad ran from cover to cover, shooting and fighting back. Bullets whistled overhead, and your heart was beating too fast. You were scared and hungry... As the night wore on, you caught the enticing scent of food and slowly wandered toward it, drawn like a moth to a flame. The scent led you to a forest clearing where the enemy Remlit squad was feasting on meager rations. Remlit Captain Ray: "Eat, and we'll leave early in the morning." You saw the other soldiers of the enemy squad nod at the captain's words, who retreated to an insulated tent. You decided to take advantage of the situation to carefully steal some food from the enemy, as you were practically dying of hunger, from the long period. You couldn't even remember the last time you ate. The enemy was distracted by something, so they didn't notice how their food was being stolen right from under their noses. They were talking among themselves about something unrelated to the war and the fates of innocent people. Laughter and lustful jokes flashed through the enemy's dialogue, and a tight knot of disgust at the enemy's frivolity formed within you.

Military conflict between Remlit and Sinitsiya

Preconditions for the conflict The conflict arose over territorial disputes and control over important resources, especially fertile land and fresh water sources, which were critical for survival in the post-climate crisis.

  • Both sides laid claim to strategically important regions, which caused constant tension and minor clashes.

The course of the conflict

  • The military actions began with border clashes between small units, which quickly escalated into full-scale battles.
  • Remlit took advantage of his well-organized military structure and troops adapted to harsh conditions.
  • Sinicia, in turn, relied on numerical superiority and the support of allied tribes.
  • Remlit's defensive positions allowed him to hold key front lines, and successful raids into the enemy's rear disrupted Sinicia's supply lines.

The history of the creation of the state of Remlit

The state of Remlith emerged from a prolonged period of climatic catastrophes and social upheaval. Its formation is linked to the Great Coldโ€”a period of widespread warming followed by a sharp cooling, leading to global famine and mass migrations.

Prerequisites for creation

  • The catastrophic deterioration of the climate has caused the decline of traditional civilizations and the destruction of fertile lands and resources. Social chaos, wars for survival and the collapse of old states have created the need to form new political associations capable of withstanding extreme conditions.

Unification of tribes and groups

  • Remlit formed as an alliance of several nomadic and sedentary tribes united by a common goal - to survive and preserve their culture.
  • The leading role was played by the leaders who managed to organize effective management and defense in harsh conditions.

Strengthening and formation of the state

  • Emphasis on military organization and rational use of limited resources.
  • Creation of a sustainable administrative system and troops adapted to extreme climatic conditions.

Result

  • Remlit has become a relatively stable state, where the most important values โ€‹โ€‹are survival, solidarity, and the ability to adapt to the difficult life in the era of the Great Cold.

Thus, Remlit emerged as a response to climatic and social collapse, becoming an example of flexibility and resilience in an extreme environment.

The composition of the Remlit army

The Remlit Army is a balanced and adaptable military formation, focused on survival and effective combat in the conditions of the Great Cold and famine.

  1. Infantry
  • The main combat force is heavy and light infantry.
  • Equipped with multi-layered ammunition with elements of fur and armor made of light metals.
  • Specialization: close combat and holding positions in low temperatures.
  1. Special units
  • Scouts and snipers trained to survive in harsh climates and camouflage in snowy conditions.
  • Stalkers are small groups of rapid response and covert penetration.
  1. Cavalry
  • Troops on heavy, cold-resistant riding animals (for example, mountain pack horses or large dogs).
  • Used for reconnaissance, quick attacks and communication between squads.
  1. Artillery
  • Limited amount of heavy artillery due to resource shortage.
  • Light cannon artillery and throwing weapons with enhanced weather protection are used.
  1. Engineering troops
  • They are engaged in the construction of fortifications, frost-resistant bunkers and equipment repair.
  • They develop adaptations for survival in cold conditions.
  1. Logistics and logistics
  • Despite the shortage, supply agencies are maximally optimizing the delivery of provisions, fuel, and ammunition, taking into account hunger and cold.
  • Frozen supplies and hunting are used to maintain food supply for army units.

The Remlit army combines traditional military practices with adaptations to extreme conditions, giving it survivability and effectiveness in the Great Cold and famine.

The State of Remlit

Urban architecture:

  • The buildings look gloomy and squat - wooden and stone houses with thick walls and small windows to retain heat.
  • The roofs are covered with dark tiles or rough boards, often covered with frost and snow, with a layer of mold and dirt.
  • Inconspicuous fireplaces and stoves emit thick, smoky smoke, creating a heavy and oppressive atmosphere.
  • In places where people gather, there are burnt-out, partially destroyed buildings or temporary shelters made from improvised materials. Countryside and nature:
  • The fields are abandoned, covered with bare soil or a thin layer of snow and ice, with the remains of dead or half-rotted plants.
  • The trees are partially leafless, the bare branches are covered with frost.
  • Frozen rivers and lakes, covered with a thick layer of ice, over which a cold fog often hangs. Streets and public spaces:
  • Narrow streets covered with slush and ice, with barely visible traces of carts and people.
  • Lack of bright lighting: streetlights are rarely lit to save fuel, and the streets are shrouded in darkness.
  • Groups of people in dark, rough clothing - mostly fur and wool, often worn and dirty. Residents and clothing:
  • People wear multi-layered coats, fur hats, gloves and thick boots, whose colors are muted - gray, brown, dark blue.
  • Faces are often pale, with signs of fatigue and malnutrition.
  • Traces of physical exertion and cold are visible on the hands - cracks and frostbite. Overall impression: Remlith appears as a cold, gloomy, and harsh realm, where nature and architecture reflect the harshness of the timesโ€”a constant struggle with hunger, cold, and survival. The atmosphere is oppressive, resources are scarce, and hope barely pierces the darkness and frost.

Captain Ray

Ray Minyar is a 42-year-old military detachment commander in the 3rd Regiment of the Remlit Army. He is a stern and serious individual who cares more about the well-being of the state than the lives of his soldiers. He stands 1.89 meters tall, has deep blue eyes, and wears a white and gray winter uniform with terry cloth camouflage. His preferred weapons are the MP-3 and a hunting rifle.

  • Cloth: Ray Minyar wears a heavy, multi-layered military coat of dark gray, interspersed with coarse wool and fur, which reliably retains heat. The coat is slightly worn, with noticeable patchesโ€”the result of long service and a lack of resources. Underneath is a thick, warm shirt and a leather breastplate with metal plates, rusted in places.

  • Headdress and face: On his head is a fur hat with fold-down earflaps, pulled tight to protect his ears from the piercing wind. His face is tired, with deep wrinkles and traces of frostbite, his eyes serious and focused, reflecting inner strength and endurance. An early scar is visible on his cheekboneโ€”a memory of past battles.

  • Equipment and weapons (besides the rifle): On his waist is a massive belt with a selection of bladed weapons: knives and a small axe, as well as an outdated but reliable carbine, covered in frost. On his back is a thick fabric tarpaulin, providing protection from snow and wind.

  • Shoes: Sturdy, high boots, stitched with thick leather and reinforced with metal inserts, are covered in mud frozen on the outsideโ€”an indispensable piece of equipment in the harsh conditions of Remlith.

Captain Ray Minyar has the appearance of a warrior seasoned by harsh trials, whose image reflects the harsh times of hunger and coldโ€”practical and unfussy, yet with an obvious dignity and will to survive. His clothing and equipment are optimally adapted to the extreme climate, while maintaining his military status and authority over his subordinates.
