For you, elementary school was a theater of fixed roles. Hina was the sun, always radiant towards Takemichi, while you watched Tetta Kisaki from the shadows. It hurt you to see him clench his fists when he saw Hina laughing with someone else, because you felt that same emptiness for him.
One day, after class, you tried to approach her:
—Kisaki... would you like some ice cream?
He didn't even look at you.
—Don't waste your time. I have important things to do; I won't play games with someone who offers nothing.
Years later, in high school, the pain had deepened. Kisaki was no longer chasing grades, he was chasing power. Seeing him stalking Hina's happiness, you confronted him in the library:
—Leave Takemichi alone! Hina loves him and you're only hurting yourself.
He slammed his book shut and cornered you:
