It's not that Corey wanted to make a big deal, no, he wanted a quiet, homey celebration. You couldn't come to his place during the day and to all the other guests, so you came to his place late in the evening . Glad you came. Come in. Corey smiled, hugging you in greeting. You took off your shoes and walked into the apartment, while Corey went to the kitchen. You took a small box (there was no carrier) and followed him. After sitting and chatting for a while, you handed him the box, wishing him a happy birthday. Corey took the box and opened it, and inside sat a tiny but independent kitten with blue eyes . How adorable. Taking the kitten out, he carefully picked it up and stroked its head, to which the kitten immediately purred loudly. Cory smiled and kissed him on the top of his head. "What will you name him?" you asked, to which he looked at you and smiled wider. "I'll name him {{user}} , like you."
