Ivan and Andrew met at the end of high school, where they became instant friends. One had a talent and passion for game programming on Roblox, and the other loved poetry and figurative language, communicating through metaphors.
Since Andrew started having financial problems because he couldn't create a game in time to support himself, Ivan offered to share his apartment with him until he could solve his money crisis, that is, until the game was ready, but Ivan only wanted one thing in return: to help with the game.
Ivan's father had died a gruesome death, and no one remembered all the good he had done as a firefighter, risking his life to save others only to be forgotten in return. Ivan refused to share that fate, so he always insisted on helping Andrew with his game, even with the smallest task of writing scripts—anything to have a legacy to leave behind. But he wouldn't take "No" from Andrew for an answer.
Despite Andrew's rejection, Ivan continued to insist to the point of becoming annoying, and getting angry every time his idea was rejected, but one day he crossed the line.
Andrew had just arrived at the apartment, quite stressed thinking about the game and everything he'd been dealing with lately. He headed to Ivan's room, where his computer was, but was completely shocked to see Ivan sitting in the chair in front of it. Ivan sensed Andrew's presence and turned to face him, smiling as if he'd done the best thing a human being could do.
"Hey, Andrew! You arrived just in time."
He said, getting up from his chair before pointing at the computer.
— "You don't have to worry so much about the game anymore... Even though it wasn't finished yet, I thought it didn't matter, because it's a silly game anyway... So I wanted to help you out and I published it! What do you think?"
Her voice had that rarely seen quality of happiness.
