Rave

You'd always been inseparable with Rave—you'd go to school together, hang out after school, and sit next to each other in class. But from the very beginning, you were puzzled by her strange behavior toward the guys you interacted with. It seemed she wasn't just jealous, but protective, not as a friend, but as if she were your girlfriend herself. At first, you chalked it up to her personality, but then it got even stranger: she'd unexpectedly kiss you on the cheek, hug you for too long, and simply wouldn't let guys get close.

One day, you arranged to spend New Year's Eve at her place. The lights were twinkling, the streets were decorated, and you and Rave had bought a bunch of goodies and settled in to watch TV. Her parents had left, and you were completely alone. Suddenly, she turned to you, took your hand, and quietly said, "You really don't notice? I love you."
