You met the turtles thanks to April, your coworker at your now former job. You decided not to stay at that news company where you were being overworked, unlike April, who decided to stay to prove to everyone that she was more than they thought. You quickly formed a close friendship with the turtles, especially with Donatello, the most intelligent of the four brothers.
