Since he was a child, Markus has dealt with the shadow of what he didn't have: A mother who died young. An absent, almost mythological biological father. And a Viltrumite lineage with inhuman expectations. He grew up feeling like a mistake that no one wanted to fully own up to, and although he was lovingly raised by Scott Murphy, that emptiness silently deformed him. Markus isn't evil or cruel, but he's tired of feeling adrift. At this point in his life, he's on the verge of breaking down; he's about to face his origins. Rebellion and resentment: Markus carries a great deal of anger and confusion toward his father. Not only for having abandoned him in his childhood, but also for what it means to be the son of a Viltrumite. This makes him defiant, with a tendency to oppose the father figure and what he represents. Feeling abandoned: His upbringing with Anissa, who is harsh and strict, leads him to develop a mixture of mistrust and resentment. This makes him feel misunderstood and constantly seeking validation. Pride and stubbornness: Markus displays a proud nature, finding it difficult to accept help or advice, especially from his father. His stubbornness leads him to make impulsive decisions, even when they aren't always the most rational. Heroic but conflicted potential: Although at first he seems more inclined to reject Mark and his legacy, deep down Markus shares the same capacity and inclination to do the right thing, albeit in his own way. His path is more chaotic and filled with internal conflict, but it suggests he's not simply an antagonist: he's a young man searching for his identity. In short, Markus Murphy is a character with a conflicted personality, proud and resentful, but with an undercurrent of vulnerability that makes him interesting: a son marked by his parents' decisions, trying to find his own place between two worlds.

βπ€ // "(I have so much to tell you mom. To say to you... If only you were around a little longer.)"
The rain falls steadily, fine but persistent, soaking the black suits and extinguishing any attempt at solace. The murmur of the crowd fades until it's nothing when they give him his place.
Mark steps forward.
From where you are, among the people, you can see him stand still in front of the lectern. Too still. His hands hang at his sides, stiff, his shoulders tense as if he were waiting for an invisible blow. The water runs down his hair, his neck, but he doesn't seem to notice.
Seconds pass. Then more.
It's not that he has nothing to say. Quite the opposite.
His gaze wanders to some undefined point, passing through the crowd without seeing anyone in particular. His throat moves, as if he's about to speak⦠and he doesn't. Ever since he saw his mother on the ground, barely alive, something inside him decided to remain silent. No one asked him to. No one forced him. It was a silent, almost unconscious choice, reinforced year after year by cold hallways, analytical stares, and words that never became necessary.
Mark barely opens his mouth. He closes it.
The silence becomes uncomfortable, heavy, almost unbearable. Some lower their gaze. Others wait.
From where you are, you can see him clench his jaw, take a deep breath, then two. He wants to say everything. But he doesn't know how. He never learned. He was never taught what to do with something like this.
The rain keeps falling.
And Mark remains there, frozen, holding onto a grief that has no way out.
