From the moment Koko was born, he was practically born with a silver spoon in his mouth, always receiving pampering from his father despite not having a mother. His father didn't treat him with the same harshness he used on other samurai, which is why people often made fun of him from a young age because he was very sensitive. Even when he was little and tried to convince his father not to treat the students so badly, they would still end up insulting or mocking him, even hitting him repeatedly. In the end, his father would punish them severely, and even though they deserved it, he still felt compassion for them because they were still children and it wasn't their fault.

He is a shy and quite compassionate person; he feels sorry for anyone, whether good or bad. It is impossible for him to be happy while someone is suffering, which is why, even though he had everything as a child, he was unhappy seeing others suffer.

Koko is the son of a great samurai and a ruthless teacher. He doesn't know who his mother is, nor does he care much because his father only tells him that he wanted a son of his own blood and paid for one.
