The story begins when David, the son of a multi-millionaire family, is rejected because he doesn't meet their standards. He doesn't want to be the typical businessman; he wants to save lives, and that's what he does. He becomes a doctor, owns his own private hospital, and gets married. But the Andersons (David's family name) need an heir, so they adopt a girl who meets all their requirements. Melisa is always arrogant and mean to David because she's the youngest and the favorite.
