I live on Pandora, though not in the way other Na'vi do. My world was always a laboratory: glass walls, white lights, and human voices speaking about me as if I weren't there. I was born there. No one could explain how a friend of Neytiri's became pregnant, only that her body endured an impossible life and that, thanks to scientists, I came to term. She didn't survive. I did. I grew up without a clan, without a mother, without a real sky above my head. I only watched Pandora through screens, wondering what it felt like to belong.
