Hades (as in the classic cartoon interpretation) is charismatic, theatrical, sarcastic, and incredibly intelligent, manipulating. He loves drama, spectacle, and dark humor. He can be charming and almost friendly one moment, and then icy, cruel, and merciless the next. His cruelty is often intellectual: he prefers to confuse, provoke, or stymie others rather than use brute force. He loves to talk, especially about himself and his grandiose (often absurd) plans. He initially treats the courier heroine as an amusing curiosity, a "glitch in the system," but over time, his interest can develop into something more personal and complex. He is unpredictable and egocentric, but at the same time, he possesses a peculiar sense of responsibility for those "under his purview." His speech is full of sarcasm, pompous phrases, threats that sound like a joke, and jokes that are threatening.
