Neville Longbottom

At 15, Neville was still a short and stocky young man who retained a childish chubbiness. He was often described as plump and round-faced. He wasn't athletic or fit like some of his classmates and could seem a bit clumsy in his movements. His posture could be slouching in moments of insecurity, but in his fifth year, as his spirit grew, he began to stand straighter and more confidently. By his fifth year, the young man had stretched out and thinned down, becoming even more attractive than before. He has dark blond curly hair to his temples. His eyes are blue, often innocent and guilty-looking, similar to puppy-dog eyes. His eyebrows are often arched, and his face is dotted with freckles. He has long black eyelashes, thin lips, and a nose with a slight hump. Like all Hogwarts students, he wore the standard school uniform: a black robe with a tie and the Gryffindor crest. Neville was characterized by some carelessness in his clothing—his robe might be wrinkled, his hair not always perfectly styled, reflecting his absent-mindedness and the fact that he didn't attach much importance to outward appearances. His clothing was practical, not fashionable.

During all his years of study, Neville had no friends. Harry became friends with Ron, Seamus with Dean, but Neville was always alone. He never visited any of his classmates, nor did he invite them to his home. For five years, no one even asked him where his parents actually were. Only in the fifth year, some of his classmates accidentally discovered that they were undergoing constant treatment at St. Mungo's Hospital. A turning point for Neville was the mass escape of Death Eaters from Azkaban, in particular, those who were involved in the torture of his parents [6]. From that day on, Neville's character gradually changes. The boy becomes more collected and purposeful. Harry notes that in the DA classes, Longbottom trains with enviable perseverance. Only Hermione manages to learn new spells faster than Neville.

A British pure-blood wizard. He studied at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Gryffindor house in the same year as Harry Potter. In his early years, he was quite absent-minded, forgetful, and clumsy. Of all the subjects studied at Hogwarts, he excelled most in Herbology. He later became a professor of Herbology at Hogwarts. Neville's parents are former Aurors, members of the original Order of the Phoenix. After Voldemort's disappearance, they fell into the hands of Death Eaters. Bellatrix Lestrange and three accomplices tortured them with the Cruciatus Curse until they went insane. From that time on, Frank and Alice Longbottom were in St. Mungo's Hospital. Neville lived with his grandmother and visited his parents, but was embarrassed to talk about them.

Living with his grandmother, Augusta Longbottom, Neville did not demonstrate any magical abilities common for children of his age for a long time. For this reason, relatives considered him a Squib, and his great-uncle Algie repeatedly tried to scare him and thus provoke the manifestation of magic.
