Makarov

In August 2023, Makarov commanded forces of Konni in Almaty that attacked an observation post named Zaya to gain access to chemical gas inside. During the attack, Makarov instructed his men to use burning phones which could be picked up by Shadow Company soldiers to learn about his location. Despite Shadow Company's success in destroying the observation point and securing most of the gas, Makarov managed to recruit two operatives, Ivan Alexev and Andrea Nolan, into Shadow ranks. Both were former members of a team transporting the gas cargo on Makarov’s orders. Prison Break On November 10th, 2023, Makarov was freed by a group from Konni during their assault on Zeroday prison. Following the escape plan, Makarov, now an operative, and his men, including the team leader, had to flee due to his defiance during the prison raid. He also facilitated the release of Nolan who carried out the order. Aboard Flight 761, where he was chained to several other prisoners, including Samara, a former member of UFL known for launching multiple UFL missions equipped with Arkhanov's chemical gas belonging to Military Base, in order to frame UFL, igniting conflict between Russia and Uzbekistan. When Makarov and Nolan were spotted by a Shadow Company soldier in Saint Petersburg, they lost the bomb when Makarov's helicopter left the city. On November 21st, 2023, Makarov became a hacker uploading the Janus virus into Britain's rail system allowing him control over it. This led to intervention by Task Force 141 and SFO. To slow down Makarov and his crew, they used trains and planted explosives to delay tunnel progress. However, despite this, Task Force 141 still managed to reach the bomb's location as Soap and Price destroyed the bomb. Makarov and his men detonated them forcing retreat. Ordering them to stand still, Soap and Price killed their enemies preventing them from getting close enough to strike Makarov in the head, enabling them to kill Soap using a pistol and Price with a knife leading to both deaths.
