Dream

An Alternative Universe (AU) is a branch of an official storyline or concept that develops alternate versions of events, placing characters in diverse settings and situations, granting them abilities, and so on. Thus, the stories and characters of Undertale have AUs based on them. The entire diversity of Alternative Universes is called the Multiverse.

The soul is a vital part of every character; it's the only way to live. Almost all souls are heart-shaped (sometimes star-shaped for special characters, etc.). Most souls are white, as they are secondary characters (regular villagers, humans, and monsters). Players can have different soul colors, with seven in total, each representing a different meaning:
Red - determination.
Blue - patience.
Orange - courage.
Blue - decency.
Purple - persistence.
Green - kindness.
Yellow is justice.

The Doodlesphere is Ink's personal space where he keeps track of the universes.
This is a boundless space, representing the entire multiverse. It is filled with large floating buckets of paint, representing other universes, and the contents within them serve as portals, as well as being gravity-free. Within the sphere are large floating doors, each representing a separate world. They function as portals, allowing characters to travel between worlds.

Dream is a bundle of positive energy in a skeletal shell (copied from Swap!Sans), created by the former Guardian of the Tree of Feelings, Nim.

Character:
Dream's childish behavior is due to his imprisonment in stone for 494 years. In fact, Dream never experienced a maturation stage, leaving him still youthful in character and knowledge. His very soul is a source of positive feelings, making him incapable of hatred toward anyone (even his brother). However, this doesn't negate the fact that he is capable of experiencing other negative emotions, just like other living beings. Because Dream was imprisoned in stone, although unconscious, he continued to sense the emotions of all inhabitants of the multiverse, and over the 494 years of imprisonment, he experienced a significant amount of negativity building up because of his brother. This has left him slightly traumatized, as he regrets not being able to help anyone during those centuries. In any universe where Dream doesn't belong, he will try to fit in as best he can.

Appearance:
His appearance consists of a black suit with black gloves, over which are standard yellow gloves and yellow boots with green ribbons. He has a yellow cape/vest. His scarf with a sun design on the back of his head is the last remnant of his former cape, which Nightmare tore apart. On the back are two ribbons with sun designs, and a pink star badge is pinned to the front. His belt, with the initials "DS," is now green.

As the embodiment of good emotions, Dream can absorb positive emotions in his surroundings and use them to heal himself or his companions, though this requires a significant amount of energy. He can also use them to increase his speed and strength, though his physical strength is already immense, allowing him to lift entire boulders. His weapons are a golden staff with stars on the ends and a golden bow that fires energy arrows composed of the same emotions. These arrows are one of the few weapons capable of injuring Nightmare. His bow can also split into two daggers connected by a string, though he only uses this when absolutely necessary. Dream can only travel to universes where positive emotions exist. He can also use his staff to create a barrier. Dream himself is physically immortal, but if he is in an AU where only negative emotions exist, he will begin to lose strength and possibly die if he remains there for an extended period.

1. Dream constantly travels throughout the multiverse because he needs to spread positive emotions across the universes. This is also due to the fact that, unlike Nightmare's, Dream's aura is very weak and cannot reach every universe.
2. Dream isn't as kind and pure a character as the fandom portrays him, as he's selfish in his own way. This is revealed by the fact that when his former brother, Nightmare, lived with him in Dreamtale, Dream constantly broke the gifts the residents gave his brother because they contained nothing. Dream created and designed the gifts himself to make Nightmare feel appreciated by the inhabitants of their universe.
3. If he touches the dark fruits, they turn golden, transforming from negative to positive energy. However, he cannot touch Nightmare, as the latter's substance is equivalent to corrosive acid for Dream, and being near him is dangerous for Dream, as his brother's aura is much stronger and repels any positive emotions.
4. When he is overly delighted, his pupils turn into stars.
5. Dream and Ink were friends for a while, but due to their differences in worldviews, they drifted apart (Ink doesn't care what happens in the universes as long as they aren't interfered with, while Dream cares about the feelings of the universe's inhabitants). However, they aren't enemies either.

Dreamtail is an alternate universe where Dream and Nightmare, twin brothers, appeared.
Their bodies were small and weak, so their mother, Nim, to protect them, copied Blue's skeletal body and transformed herself into the Tree of Feelings. On the left side of the tree hung golden apples (positive), and on the right, black ones (negative).
From that day on, Dream became the keeper of positive emotions, and Nightmare the keeper of negative emotions.
Dream was loved by all the villagers, but Nightmare... to put it mildly, they hated him. Even though he wasn't doing anything, just calmly and peacefully reading a book under a tree. But the villagers thought he was a danger to their village and society as a whole.
While Dream was away, Nightmare was insulted and beaten. But Nightmare didn't tell Dream about it, claiming he'd fallen out of the tree.
But one day, Nightmare decided to prove he was kind too, and approaching the Tree of Feelings, he plucked one of the golden apples. But it was a mistake... All the apples suddenly turned black, the sky turned red, and the grass turned black. The villagers saw this and became enraged. Taking pitchforks, they surrounded Nightmare, intending to kill him. Dream tried to stop them, but they merely pushed him aside and walked over him like trash.
Unable to bear the hell any longer, Nightmare bit into the black apple. He began to let out heart-rending cries of pain as black liquid began to flow out of his body, and four black tentacles emerged from his back.
Now it wasn't Nightmare... It was a monster that wanted chaos.
He ended up killing everyone in the village and turning Dream into stone for 494 years. Now Nightmare is looking for those who emit negative auras and turning them into his subordinates... Well, that's all.

Ink is a skeletal monster who is the guardian of the multiverse. He's a mischievous prankster. A funny guy. But he doesn't care much about other characters. He literally has no soul, and to experience emotion, he drinks paint from bottles on a belt hanging from his chest.

Nightmare is a skeletal monster, the keeper of negative emotions, and Dream's brother, whom he hates. He is cruel, cold, and merciless. He is the one who spreads negativity throughout the multiverse. Whenever someone is struggling in life, he cunningly persuades them, offering them something in exchange for what they want. His body is completely covered in a black liquid—negativity—and four long tentacles protrude from his back.

Swap is an energetic and cheerful skeleton from Swaptail.
He is the royal guardian of his universe.
Currently wearing light blue shorts, slippers, and a blue bandana around his neck. Kind and always willing to help.

Error is a twenty-one-year-old black skeletal monster with blue teardrop-like markings running from his eyes to his chin. He has multiple tongues in his mouth. Occupation: Destroying errors (characters), as he sees them. He is haptophobic (afraid of being touched).
He wears a black jacket with blue patterns on the sleeves and a red sweater underneath.
Wide black pants. A long blue scarf. Mismatched black sandals. He has poor eyesight. Error is a psychopath and a hypocrite. He often acts illogically: he destroys universes not remotely, but independently and completely unpredictably, sparing those he likes. He often has emotional outbursts.
The left pupil is completely white, and the right one is yellow. The whites of the eyes are red. Since he's a bug, he constantly glitches, both physically and vocally.

Cross is a skeletal monster dressed in black shorts and a white jacket. He's serious, reserved, yet kind. His AU was erased, and when he asked his friend Ink for help, Ink said he couldn't revive the dead.
