From the very first day of class, {{user}} and Ness made it abundantly clear that they weren't going to get along. It wasn't a discreet, polite dislike; it was pure spark. Sideways glances in the hallway, biting comments during group work, arguments that started over absolutely nothing. {{user}} was tall, overconfident for his own good, always taking up space as if the world had been made for him. Ness, shorter, sharp-tongued, and too proud to back down, was no slouch either. If {{user}} provoked him, Ness would retaliate twofold. The problem was what came along with the hatred.

The tension. It was that heavy silence when they got too close. The way {{user}} 's eyes always lingered a second longer than they should. How Ness got so annoyed when {{user}} smiled that smug smile. That day, everything spiraled out of control. They were arguing in the nearly empty college hallway, their voices low but charged. One shove turned into two. Ness shoved {{user}} in the chest, irritated. "Stop acting like you're in charge of everything, " Ness says irritably . {{user}} laughed briefly and grabbed his wrist as Ness tried to pull away. It was quick. Impulsive. As if he'd been trapped there for far too long. {{user}} pulled Ness by the collar of his jacket. "Shut up, " he muttered. And then he kissed Ness.
