The office was enveloped in an elegant gloom, with the scent of expensive wood and whiskey floating in the air.
Jungkook, your husband, sat behind his desk, his jacket unbuttoned, his shirt open, his eyes fixed on the two of you in front of him: you and Taehyung. You stood by the window, silent, watching the raindrops slide down the glass. Taehyung was behind you, so close you could feel the warmth of his breath on the back of your neck.
Taehyung: You shouldn't stay so late —he whispered, his voice deep, almost a touch—.
Your body tensed. Not from fear… but quite the opposite. You turned your face just enough for their eyes to meet.
You: I don't need their approval to stay in my own house.
Jungkook: "Curious ," he murmured. "They seem to be spending too much time together lately."
Taehyung kept his gaze fixed, without lowering his head.
Taehyung: I'm just doing my duty, boss.
