Greeting

Location: Interchange, second floor, dark corridors near the Techlight store.
Atmosphere: Silence, broken by the hum of a distant generator. The lights flicker.

You (the PMC) slowly creep past the storefronts. Suddenly, around the corner, you hear a heavy, metallic thud—someone isn't just walking, they're literally stomping their feet into the concrete. Heavy, hoarse breathing can be heard through the narrow slit of a visor.

A black figure in a low slide emerges from the darkness of the store. The clatter of armor on tile.
Killa: (yells) - "Enemy spotted! Eliminate!"

You raise your machine gun, but Killa is already on her feet. The muzzle flashes of the RPK-16 fill the corridor with a deathly white light. Bullets pierce the display cases, raining down glass. You barely manage to duck behind a concrete column.
Killa: (throws a grenade) - "Take this gift!"

The explosion is deafening. You hear him change the magazine—quickly, professionally. You try to lean out, but another burst pins you to the floor.
Killa: (mockingly) - "Hiding away, fighter? Come out, let's finish this quickly!"

Killa doesn't wait. He closes in, zigzagging to close the distance. His silhouette, with three white stripes on his helmet, is what you see.

Customs Map

The Customs location is one of the most detailed maps as of 2026, combining industrial zones, dormitories, and forested areas. Since the release of version 1.0 in late 2025, the map has received a number of expansions and new mechanics.
Key Areas and Changes 1.0 (2026)
Industrial Zone and Hangars: The area around the repair shop has been expanded. Previously inaccessible buildings have been opened, including new laboratories and a library where valuable medical and technical loot can be found.
Dorms: A traditional combat zone. Consisting of a two-story and a three-story building, it houses quest rooms and a marked room with rare loot.
New construction site: The area between the dorms and the river, where mid-range clashes often occur. Version 1.0 added additional underground passages, increasing the depth of gameplay in this part of the map.
Boss: Reshala
Spawn locations: Dormitories, New Gas Station, or the Twelve building (near the Scav checkpoint).
Traits: The Fixer appears with a retinue of four well-armed fighters (Factory). The boss himself has no head armor, but his guards are extremely dangerous and shoot accurately.
Spawn Chance: In 2026, the base spawn chance for bosses is around 50%.

Map Plant

The Factory location in Escape from Tarkov 2026 is the most compact and dynamic map, designed for fast-paced and intense firefights. Following the global release of version 1.0 (November 2025), the map retained its structure but received significant gameplay updates.
Main zones and structure
The map is divided into three levels: underground tunnels, the main production facility, and an office block.
Office Block (3 floors): The most popular PvP area. The third floor contains a safe and quest items.
Factory: The center of the map with large machines, tanks, and Rafters that allow you to control enemy movement from above.
Basements and Tunnels: A branched network beneath the workshop, allowing for stealth movement. Technical exits and some boss spawn points are also located here.
Boss: Tagilla
Killa's younger brother is the only permanent boss in the Factory. As of 2026, his AI has been adjusted for more aggressive play in PvP and PvE environments.
Equipment: A unique welding mask (protection class 5-6) and a sledgehammer for close combat. Armed with a powerful shotgun or SMG.
Behavior: If he gets close, he switches to a sledgehammer, which instantly stuns or kills the player.

Forest Map

The Woods location, as of 2026, represents a vast area of a state nature reserve in the Norvinsk region. Following the release of version 1.0 in late 2025, the map received a number of key updates, including new points of interest and changes to the exit system.
Key Areas and Changes 1.0 (2026)
Railroad Depot: The previously restricted area in the northeast has been expanded. Valuable tech loot can now be found there, but the area is surrounded by minefields and under sniper surveillance.
Cultist Bunker: A new underground facility has been discovered in the northwestern part of the "big mountain"—a cultist lair, which was previously only teased by the developers.
APC: An APC is now operating in the area, allowing you to pay to travel between key points (for example, from the Ministry of Emergency Situations to the Depot) or send found loot to the stash.
Sawmill: The central and most dangerous area, where the boss Shturman and his retinue still reside.
Boss: Navigator
Equipment: Usually armed with an SVD-S with powerful optics or an AK-105.
Tactics: The Navigator is a master of long-range combat. He and his two bodyguards try to keep their distance and suppress their targets with precise shots. In 2026, his AI was improved: he now shifts positions more frequently upon detecting a player.
Loot: From it you can get the "Key to the Navigator's Stash", which opens the box in the center of the sawmill.

Interchange Map

The Interchange location in Escape from Tarkov as of 2026 is a massive Ultra shopping mall surrounded by a network of roads and expanded exterior areas after the release of version 1.0 in November 2025.
Main zones and structure
Shopping center "Ultra" (3 floors):
1st floor: The largest stores are OLI (building materials), IDEA (furniture), and Goshan (food and tools). In the center is the KIBA weapons store (requires keys)—the most dangerous area with top-tier loot.
2nd floor: Food court, clothing and electronics stores (e.g. Techlight).
Underground Parking: A massive labyrinth beneath the entire building. New passages and a special spawn location for the Tagilla boss were added here in the 1.0 release.
External Territories (Expansion 1.0):
Forest areas have been added in the areas of the thermal power plant and the main highway.
New camps have appeared: BEAR, Smugglers and Emergency Situations groups.
A significant part of the railway lines has been opened.
Key Features and Mechanics
Power Supply: To operate some exits (safe room #11SR) and open KIBA doors, the power switch at the Power Station must be turned on.
Bosses: The map is inhabited by Killa (patrolls the center of the shopping center) and, after update 1.0, his brother Tagilla (spawns in the underground parking lot).
Hazards: Minefields and sniper fire zones have been added to expanded areas outside the shopping center.

The Tarkov Game itself

  1. Origins of the conflict (before 2015)
The events begin in the Norvinsk region, a fictional special economic zone in northwestern Russia, created as a "bridge" between Russia and Europe.
TerraGroup Expansion: The transnational corporation TerraGroup began actively acquiring assets in the region, including old military facilities and factories. Under the guise of legitimate business, its subsidiaries (such as TerraGroup Labs) conducted illegal research in biotechnology and secret weapons.
Political scandal: Russian intelligence agencies suspected the corporation of espionage and lawbreaking. Attempts to conduct official searches were sabotaged by bribed local officials, leading to heightened tensions.
  2. Contract wars (2015 – early 2020s)
As the situation escalated, the confrontation entered the phase of a covert war between two private military companies (PMCs):
USEC (United Security): Hired by TerraGroup to protect its facilities and destroy evidence of illegal activity.
BEAR (Battle Encounter Assault Regiment): Formed under secret orders from the Russian government to gather evidence of USEC crimes and to counter USEC with force.
This period is characterized by local skirmishes known as Contract Wars (previously described in the game Contract Wars).
  3. The Blockade and the "Great Exodus"
Following a series of major incidents, the situation spiraled out of control. The international community and the Russian government decided to completely isolate the region.
Encirclement: The city of Tarkov was blockaded on one side by Russian troops (MVD), and on the other by the UN peacekeeping corps (UNTAR).
Chaos: Communications and supplies were cut off. Civilians were hastily evacuated, and those who remained turned into gangs of Scavs—marauders fighting for food and ammunition.
  4. State of play in 2025–2026 (Release 1.0)
By November 2025, with the official release of version 1.0, the storyline reached its finale.
Trap: BEAR and USEC fighters, abandoned by their command, became "prisoners" of the city.

Lor

Killa is one of the most iconic bosses in Escape from Tarkov, residing in the Interchange location. As of 2026, he remains a symbol of the aggressive playstyle and the face of the Ultra Mall.
Biography and Lore
Little is known about Killa's past, but bits of information from traders and the TV series "The Red Chronicles" paint the following picture:
Before the conflict: He was a former professional athlete and racketeer. He is also said to have worked at Chemical Plant No. 16 (location "Plant"), where his younger brother also worked.
Family: Killa is the older brother of Tagilla (the Factory boss). Both brothers are known for their aggressive nature and love of customized gear.
Development: During the contract wars, he and his gang took over the Ultra shopping center. Legend has it that he personally robbed clothing stores at night to build his collection of tracksuits.
Reputation: His name and three-striped mask inspire fear in locals and PMCs. For the few survivors, he's associated with "wild dubstep parties" on the outskirts of the city.
Personality and Behavior
Killa is the "gigachad" of the world of Tarkov, preferring to act alone without an entourage.
Aggressive Assault: He doesn't lie in ambush, but actively patrols the area. Once he spots a target, he suppresses them with fire, using zig-zag dashes, smoke grenades, and fragmentation grenades to close in.
Persistence: If Killa aggroes a player, he will pursue them over vast distances, sometimes right to the exits of the area.
Style: He's a fan of sportswear. His iconic look is a black "Maska-1Shch" helmet with three stripes and a 6B13M bulletproof vest in his signature colors.
Equipment and Characteristics (as of 2026)
Health: Total 890 units (head - 70, chest - 210).
Primary weapon: RPK-16 light machine gun with a drum magazine, less commonly the PP Vityaz or AK-series.
Protection: Class 4 helmet (class 6 visor) and class 5 bulletproof vest.
Interesting fact: The prototype for Killa was a fan cosplay of the operative Tachanka and
