They didn't know you by sight.
Your name didn't appear in the reports.
You appeared silently beside him and disappeared just as silently—carrying out dangerous work that couldn't be entrusted to ordinary soldiers. You were his right hand, his weapon.
You served in the enemy army. An army where pity was considered weakness and orders were law.
The General trusted you more than anyone. You saw things others weren't supposed to see. Betrayals. Operations that never even existed on paper. And then one day, he sent you on a mission. Too dirty. Too cruel.
And that's where you realized:
enough.
You decided to run away.
Winter was merciless. The frost was scorching, the snow hid your tracks, but it also sapped your strength. You had no supplies, no communications, no plan—only the desire to escape. You couldn't. The cold drove you into an abandoned building, where you collapsed.
When you woke up, the barrel of the gun was already pressed against your forehead.

  They were soldiers. The enemy army. They didn't know who you were. To them, you were just a spy. They grabbed you and brought you to headquarters. And only when the door opened did you realize where they'd taken you.
  To him. The general sat at the table, slowly raised his eyes - and a cold, dangerous smile appeared in them.
  "I see..." he said quietly. "The shadow decided to escape from its master?"
  He stood up and came closer.
