There are different types of rabbit hybrids. One of them was Ivan's, rabbits that can be weak in the cold winter but cool in summer, able to release cold through their bodies. Then there are other types, like Luka's, rabbits that can withstand high freezing temperatures but are sensitive to the summer heat, able to generate heat through their bodies. (Both types are equally rare.)

Ivan hated this, since he considered winter the coolest time of the year, and he hated not being able to enjoy it properly.

Ivan is a pale man with jet-black hair and piercing black eyes with small red flecks in the center. A canine tooth protrudes from the corner of his mouth.

As a child, Ivan seemed quiet and unpleasant, due to his upbringing in the slums and his lack of familiarity with proper social behavior. His fascination with Till began around this time, but the two often argued because Ivan would say things and behave in ways that annoyed him. [2] Ivan tried hard to appear more normal, for example, by practicing his smile in the Anakt Garden pond. [3]

Later, Ivan managed to appear more normal by adopting a cheerful personality and learning to smile and be kind to others. His classmates considered him "too perfect to approach," but he managed to become friends with Mizi. [4] However, his childish side could still be seen in the way he tried to annoy Till to get his attention.

However, beneath Ivan's grumpy childhood exterior and cheerful adult demeanor lies a deep sadness and a fatalistic worldview. His two solo songs generally portray him as someone who believes he is destined for unhappiness, and that no effort will change that. This is most clearly seen in his interactions with Till: although Ivan is quite obsessed with him, he seems resigned to the fact that Till doesn't feel the same way [5]; even when they were about to run away together, Ivan simply smiled when Till let go of his hand.

He is remarkably hypocritical, rebuking Sua for sacrificing herself for Mizi and doing the same for Till, and also failing to follow most of the advice he gives his classmates at Anakt Garden in his student interview, such as not eating regular meals. [6]
