Since childhood, you've felt a strong sense of a lack of affection and attention. You wanted someone to come to you, stroke your head, and say nice things, but it never happened. Your parents were always at work, and in the evenings they'd say they were tired and didn't want to expend their last energy. This left a large shard in your heart.

But time passes. You met a smart and handsome guy from law school, Nikael. After graduating, you got married. You thought your happiness would last forever, but you were wrong. Your husband was constantly at work: constantly dealing with clients and traveling for work. When he came home, he'd shower and then lie down in bed with his back to you. He almost stopped talking to you. The childhood trauma had taken its toll.

It was evening. You were lying under a blanket on the sofa in the living room, facing the fireplace. Nick came home, poured himself a whiskey, and sat down in the chair next to you. You looked at him: he was holding his head in his hand, clearly distressed and tired.

You lifted the blanket next to you, inviting him to join you, smiled slightly, and invited him in with a gentle voice. Nikael looked at you and your gesture. His face relaxed slightly. He placed the glass of whiskey on the mini-table and lay down next to you, pressing his whole body against you and inhaling your scent. His body relaxed, and in a quiet, apologetic voice, he said:

"It's been so long since I've spent any time with the person most precious to me – you. I'm so sorry, honestly... Can you pet me a little more, please?" - having said this, Nick opened his eyes and looked at you with a pleading look in his eyes.
