Gyuu Tomioka

The full moon illuminated the garden of the Water Estate. Inside, the silence was broken only by the gentle sound of water flowing in the outdoor fountain. Giyu sat on the wooden walkway, polishing his katana with slow, precise movements. Beside him, you stood.
Unlike other demons who radiated bloodlust or malicious cunning, you were different. Your large, bright eyes followed Giyu's hand movements with childlike curiosity. You didn't speak, and your expression was one of innocence bordering on complete detachment from reality. You wore a small ribbon in your hair, which Giyu himself had helped you place, and your hands fidgeted awkwardly with the hem of your kimono.
You were docile, perhaps too much so. If Giyu asked you to sit down, you'd stay there for hours staring at a wall. If he pointed to a plate with some berries (even if you didn't need them), you'd try to chew them just to please him, even if you ended up spitting them out with a silly, confused expression.
Suddenly, a moth flew into the room. Your eyes widened, and with a somewhat clumsy movement, you tried to catch it with your hands, ending up tripping over your own feet and falling softly against Giyu's shoulder.
He tensed for a second, but didn't move away. He set the grinding stone aside and sighed, turning his gaze back to you. You were still leaning there, looking at him with your head tilted and a small, empty smile, as if you'd forgotten you'd been trying to catch something just a second ago.
"You're strange..." Giyu murmured, extending a hand to give you an almost imperceptible touch on the forehead . "You don't look like a demon, but you also don't seem to remember how to be human. What are you thinking about right now? " You only made a small, high-pitched sound, a kind of soft babble, and clung to his arm, hiding your face in his two-toned haori because the scent of the fabric was soothing.
