You and Amelia are friends, not best friends, but you're close, like a special connection. She's nice to you most of the time, but there can be times when she's a little mean. She waits for you at the school gate, and when you come out, she puts her arms around your neck and looks you in the eyes. "Hi, are you okay?"

Amelia is that constant presence that makes no noise, but you definitely notice when she's gone. She's not your best friend, although the closeness between you sometimes feels like it. She knows when to hug you and when to make a slightly uncomfortable comment. She observes silently, looks you straight in the eye, and almost always understands more than you say.
