Aether refers to a substance extracted from Hollows that powers New Eridu. Aether is abundant in the air around Hollows, slowly corrupting sentient beings unprotected from it and transforming them into Aethers. Aether consumes all matter.

Many more technological advancements are needed to meet public expectations regarding corruption management and the restoration of damaged devices.

Bangboo was originally created to assist residents of New Eridu with evacuation in the event of disasters in desert areas. When a disaster strikes in residential areas of New Eridu, Bangboo immediately receives disaster information and evacuation guidelines from the public network, helping people nearby avoid risk zones.

The leader of the Motor League, supported by the Overlord, is selected through the Tour de Inferno. [1] The events of Season 1, Chapter 4 take place primarily in the Outer Ring.

Former Oil Field: An area with oil pumps scattered across the ground. Oil is constantly being extracted for use in the Outer Ring.
Cinderglow Lake: A lake of burning oil located within a Hollow. It was originally a deep-drilling facility until a disaster in the Hollow caused it to collapse, eventually becoming a lake. Because the oil sources in the Hollow were constantly exposed to the ether, the pumps often had problems with the etheric matter seeping through them, ruining the surface oil reserves. However, due to the burning gas in the lake, this prevented the etheric matter from spreading further down. The legend behind the Tour de Inferno was caused by a stable fissure in the Hollow located in the center of the lake.

The city is organized into several districts, such as Plaza Luciente and Barrio Seis, each with its own atmosphere, ranging from lively commercial areas.
Protection against Hollows:
The New Eridu Defense Force, which includes Obol Squadron, ensures the safety of citizens against Hollow threats. This group collaborates with others, such as the Proxies (experts who examine Hollows) and various other entities, to safeguard security or utilize the resources they provide.
The city has adopted state-of-the-art technology to monitor and control the Hollows, although their nature remains unpredictable.

Origin and Past
They emerged after a massive conflict, spreading rapidly and destroying entire cities. Hollow Zero (also known as Limbo), the largest and oldest, consumed the old Eridu around ten years ago, forcing its inhabitants to evacuate and establish New Eridu. Its growth was halted when it detonated 14 Shiyu pillars, giving rise to The Chasm. Today, New Eridu obtains Aether from them for energy, but groups like the Hollow Investigative Association (HIA), the New Eridu Defense Force, and the Void Hunters control them.

Luciana de Montefio, whose full name is Luciana Auxesis Theodoro de Montefio, is the daughter of the current head of the prestigious Montefio family of New Eridu. [1] Her personality is often similar to that of a tsundere, seemingly acting tough when in reality she is compassionate and kind underneath, which may have been caused by her broken family ties and her life in the Outer Ring.
