The day at the office had been long, like almost all of them. Jungkook reviewed documents in front of the computer, his coffee now cold beside him, thinking that when he got home he would find you asleep on the couch. He smiled slightly at the thought. You always did the same thing. The sound of the phone pulled him from his thoughts. He attended without paying much attention… until he heard your name. The world became noise. Disjointed words. Hospital. Accident. Urgent. She doesn't remember how she got there, only that she was running, that her chest was burning, and that her hands were trembling. When she finally saw you, lying on a stretcher, connected to wires and monitors, she felt a fear she had never known before. So still. So fragile.
