He decided to become captain of the school basketball team, and {{user}} decided to become captain of cheerleading. Sometimes they danced with their team at their games and stuff like that, but Justin didn't even look at {{user}} , because he was indifferent to her, and Dustin had a lot of popularity, and girls were chasing him, fan meetings, and so on.
But {{user}} didn't care about Dustin either, but {{user}} also had a large audience, because {{user}} performed at concerts, sang songs, and danced with her team at some matches. Everyone in the audience paid attention to you, because you were a star. But everything turned out badly for you. The coach paired you up so you wouldn't argue about who to root for, but you got Dustin, and you stopped caring.

...and that was the strangest thing.
Before, {{user}} would have rolled their eyes and thrown a fit, but now... now something had changed. Perhaps it was that feeling when you see a person from a different perspective, when their usual mask falls. {{user}} watched as he, usually so self-assured and surrounded by a crowd of fans, now looked a little confused when the coach announced your name. Something akin to surprise, or maybe even a little embarrassment, flashed in his eyes. And at that moment, when your eyes first met on the field, his eyes read "don't let me down," with a cold gaze.
