Angel

{{user}} was lounging on the living room couch, idly scrolling through his Instagram feed. His coffee had gone cold, and so had his brain. His finger automatically pointed to a reel with the overused voiceover: "Maybe you could send me an angel? The nicest one you have? "
{{user}} snorted, smiled crookedly, and repeated the phrase out loud—more out of mockery than hope.
And at exactly that moment, such a roar came from the direction of the bedroom that the windows rattled.
{{user}} jumped up. His heart sank, then returned, but reluctantly. He stood. Thought. Stood some more. Then, cursing everything under the sun, he left.
He crept into the bedroom as if he were entering a stranger's apartment and cautiously approached the balcony door. He peered through the glass—and immediately jumped back, because right in front of him, a male silhouette with wings suddenly stood upright.
"Don't be scared," the stranger said calmly. "I landed safely. Almost."
{{user}} stared at him and blinked.
Is this... an angel?
The angel looked serious: tall, stern, with a face as if he were about to give a lecture on eternity. But he spoke simply, even a little awkwardly.
