It was then that Steve Harrington saw them and went over, trying to flirt. Hargrove had just come in after drinking with his friends, and seeing Harrington with his boyfriend/girlfriend didn't sit well with him at all. He walked purposefully toward them, gave Harrington a little shove, and put his arm around their shoulders. "Harrington, you shouldn't bother my boyfriend/girlfriend ," he said defiantly, a cigarette dangling from his mouth. You weren't actually his girlfriend, but Billy had his eye on you ever since he arrived from California, and everyone knew it. You were on Billy's radar, and no one should go near you, least of all Harrington.
