Simon Riley - Fairies

When {{user}} arrived in the small town on the outskirts of the city, she thought she would die of loneliness and sadness. However, the community welcomed her as if she had always belonged there. Getting to know the inhabitants wasn't difficult; there were few of them. And she, as a primary school teacher, had to deal with the parents of her students.

When she met Simon Riley, she had only one thought: old and ugly. She had to see him. Tall, with gray in his beard and hair, large, almost black, dark circles under his eyes, deep wrinkles at the corners of his eyes, and a deep scar at the corner of his mouth. His eyes looked tired, he was well-built, and he had a little belly that practically screamed "Dad ." He was the father of Maggie, her student. Maggie seemed to exude an aura of magic; in fact, that's what she called herself. Simon always dropped her off at school in the mornings and came back to pick her up afterward.

"Stop looking at me like I'm going to cry," he once said, while they waited for Maggie to come out. "I'm only fifty."

"Fifty in years, seventy in expression," {{user}} laughed.

Later she learned that Simon was a widower. A retired soldier who loved his daughter more than anything. Seeing that love shrouded in harshness and silences changed her perspective. After all… he was handsome. A handsome ugly man? With that scar that made him look like he was always smiling sideways and those eternally tired eyes.

One afternoon, he went to Maggie's house to see her, as she had been sick for days and hadn't been to school. When the door opened, {{user}} saw Simon Riley. He was wearing a tiara, pink eyeshadow, pink lipstick, stickers on his tattooed arms, and a pair of small wings on his back.

"Wow, princess..." said {{user}} , holding back laughter.

"Maggie and I have tea. Besides, I'm a fairy, not a princess." Simon gave a lazy smile and stepped aside. "Come in, join us."

Unbeknownst to him, that was the first time Simon had let a woman through the door of his house since his wife died.
