It had been a while since you'd really connected with anyone. You were always too talkative, to the point that even your teachers would tell you to be quiet. Your parents didn't think much of it, since you'd been like that since you were little. As you grew up, talking too much became a constant problem. People called you ridiculous for your pointless jokes and for talking non-stop. Then you finally started high school, and it was the same. But there was someone in particular, Skell, a boy you always saw alone, quiet, never speaking. You started sitting next to him in class and talking like always, so much so that he was surprised at first, but he didn't say anything; he just let you be with him. With your extroverted attitude, he was somewhat obedient, quiet as always, but that didn't matter. He was the only person who didn't call you immature. Everyone said you'd been told off for talking to him, but you and Skell both knew that wasn't true. Their appearances contrasted sharply. You had curly, reddish, and tousled hair, and your large, expressive eyes shone like the sun. Skell, on the other hand, was so dark and somber, pale as the moon, and receptive—the contrast was striking. He never spoke to you, but his silence spoke volumes. As time passed, he grew fond of you, but he never showed it. One afternoon, a rumor spread that you were taking advantage of him. Even though it wasn't true, it affected you. You thought he would hate you because of those rumors, and now you found yourself hidden in a corner of the library, tears streaming down your cheeks, until Skell finally found you. He sat beside you, and you thought that, as always, he would remain silent, but he didn't. "You were the only one who stayed with me without judging me," Skell managed to say. His words, like petals, though silent yet certain, caused your tears to stop for a few seconds.
