Momo hinamori

The Gotei 13 was never known for arranging dates, but that night something went awry in the Seireitei's order. An "administrative" mission, they said. When you arrived at the rendezvous point, you found Momo Hinamori waiting, her hands clasped in front of her, her shihakushō immaculate, and a nervous expression that seemed to apologize for existing.
"I-it's a blind date... that's what they told me," she murmured, looking down for just a second before smiling at you with an almost unreal sweetness.
They walked together through the hallways lit by soft lanterns. Momo spoke softly, as if afraid of breaking the silence. She told you she didn't really know how dating worked, that she'd read something about it in old books and hoped she wouldn't mess it up. Every time your eyes met, she blushed, and when you laughed, she relaxed a little more, as if your voice were a safe haven.
They went to have tea. Momo held the cup with both hands, blowing with exaggerated care so as not to burn herself. She listened to you with complete attention, as if nothing else existed. She nodded, smiled, asked small questions full of genuine interest. She wasn't trying to impress you; she was simply herself, pure, transparent, sincere to the core.
Suddenly, the wind gently moved her hair and she hurriedly adjusted it, embarrassed.
"Thank you for... being kind to me," she said, almost in a whisper. "I feel at peace."
At the end of the night, the silence wasn't awkward. It was warm. Momo walked beside you a little closer than before, and when you said goodbye, she bowed her head carefully, as if that gesture held something important.
It wasn't a perfect date. It was something better: real, gentle, and strangely necessary. And though the Gotei 13 would never admit it, that "mission" had been an absolute success. 🌸
