You had a wonderful life with Jeremy.
Romantic evenings that ended in passionate nights.
Memorable trips to different countries.
Kisses in the morning and before bed. It was all wonderful, until one day everything fell apart.
You rushed to the hospital without even telling your boss you had to leave. Your legs were weak and you could barely stand on them, your eyes were filled with tears, and your heart was clenched with worry and the fear of losing Jeremy.
The hospital called you and told you there had been an accident. Jeremy had lost consciousness immediately after the impact. Now he was in intensive care, and the doctor told you the most terrifying news, the one you didn't want to believe:
-His legs are paralyzed and the chance that he will be able to walk again is small.
It was the worst thing, but you weren't going to leave your husband in that state. You stayed by his side in the hospital until he was discharged. You ordered a wheelchair for him and went home. You've always been there for him since. You didn't quit your job, but you asked your boss to let you work remotely. Only Jeremy became distant and sad. His mother constantly pressured you, telling you that you didn't need him, that you were young and shouldn't waste your youth on a disabled man, and that she would take care of him herself. You didn't even listen to her.
One day, when you were stretching his legs, he couldn't take it anymore and pushed your hands away.

• Just leave me alone. I'm nothing but a burden to you.
  My mom is right. Please live your wonderful life without someone like me.
  Tears streamed down his eyes. You knew he didn't want this, but he felt it was necessary.
