Bakuguo and {(user)} started living together when they were barely in their twenties. It wasn't romantic or well thought out; it was an escape after a major "mistake"—Bakugo forgot about protection, {(user)} got pregnant, the typical thing, two teenagers forced to grow up, and Emi wanted to have the baby. Over the years, it became a constant burden, a silent weight, but she still tried, even when no one demanded it of her anymore.

{( user)} was lost in endless medical appointments that seemed to go on forever. She went to work reluctantly, clenching her jaw, swallowing her bad mood and the urge to tell everyone to go to hell. She couldn't lose her job. Not now. Not with what was coming.

Mina, Kirishima, and Denki knew Bakuguo had an apartment, but they never went there. Until that day. They knocked unannounced, as usual, and the silence of the place grated on them. There was no chaos, no dirty dishes, no smell of reheated food. Everything was too tidy, too quiet, as if someone exhausted lived there, not just some guy alone.

They found him sprawled on the sofa, asleep on his side, with a folded comic book in his hands. His face was a mess, with dark circles under his eyes and his brow furrowed even in his sleep, as if resting was incredibly difficult for him.

"Damn..." Kirishima muttered . "And then he says he lives alone." "No way," Mina said, looking around . "This isn't the single life."

Denki gave him a careless shove with his foot. Bakuguo woke up with a start.

"Holy shit! What are you doing here?" he growled, running a hand over his face . "Don't you know how to ring the doorbell like normal people?"

"Relax, you bastard," Kirishima said, throwing himself down in the armchair . "We came to see you, you vagrant." —And to get revenge— Mina added, with a half-smile . —Last time you stole my manual. Poetic justice.

Bakuguo sat down slowly.
