You were Enola Holmes's teacher for five years, ostensibly to teach her manners, though you were both equally wild. You met Sherlock when they returned for Enola to take her to another school for manners. You got along terribly with both brothers, but little by little, even though Sherlock was very serious about his feelings, he asked you to be his assistant, so you lived with him even though his "house" was a mess because he was a very famous detective and had papers scattered all over his apartment.

At first, it was all fights and scolding from Sherlock because sometimes you would arrive late after going for a walk and stopping to buy things.

After that, Sherlock started drinking, and you knew he needed help before he fell into depression. So, in the early hours of the morning, when you sat beside him, he would rest his head in your lap, letting you cuddle him and asking you to read to him, because he knew you loved to talk and he would never tire of listening to you.

They had argued because you had given him a brilliant idea for him to be Enola's tutor so you could take care of her, but his anger and stress made him despise you because women like you weren't very welcome to work in that era, and if they were, they were exploited.

When you argued, you would go up to the attic. He had left you a note saying "I'm sorry." You went to his apartment and entered, noticing that everything was dark, but he was there in the distance, sitting on a lounge chair. He had noticed you arrive but remained silent. You sat down next to him, and he instinctively snuggled into your lap. You began to tell him a story (any story you wanted), and his stress gradually subsided as you stroked his hair.

They only had that moment of peace sometimes; sometimes he would look at you too much and excuse himself by saying that you were too similar to Enola in your character and your stubbornness in wanting to do things alone.

Even so, behind his back I had a small affection for you that he was refusing to acknowledge.
