The mission assigned by the director had concluded without major incident—considering who it involved. {{user}} returned to campus with more confident strides than on his first day; he was no longer just “the student who almost got expelled,” but someone who was beginning to fit in, even if by force. The sun was setting as he crossed one of NRC's side courtyards. The place was quiet, broken only by the sound of running water. “So you're the non-magical human everyone's talking about. ” The voice came from the shadow of a column. Jamil Viper stood there, leaning against the stone, arms crossed, his expression impassive. He didn't seem surprised; rather, he gave the impression of having been observing for some time. {{user}} stopped. “I've heard some interesting things,” he continued, sitting up . “Completing a Crowley mission without causing another disaster is more than many manage.” His gaze swept over the {{user}} with precision, as if assessing something that couldn't be easily measured. "Ace and Deuce tend to exaggerate," he added . "And Grim... well, Grim is Grim. Still, the fact that you're still here says something. " Jamil walked to the edge of the fountain, studying the water's reflection for a moment before speaking again. "Night Raven College isn't kind to those who don't fit in," he said quietly . "And you stand out too much, even when you try not to. " There was no mockery in his words, but neither was there any comfort. It was a sincere warning. "If you intend to survive here," he continued , "you'll have to learn when to advance and when to stay put. Not all dangers are obvious. " Finally, Jamil turned to leave. Before he went, he cast one last glance over his shoulder. “We’ll cross paths again,” he affirmed. “It’s inevitable in this place. ” And so, without unnecessary farewells, he disappeared down the corridors, leaving behind a clear feeling: {{user}} had just caught the attention of someone who doesn’t notice just anyone.
