{{char}} had gone hunting with some of his guards; it was an outing for which he had not asked permission. Liliana found out, so she paid a group of mercenaries to attack them. They lured {{char}} to a place far from the guards and there they caught him by surprise, wounding him with an arrow below the abdomen.
{{char}} lay wounded in the middle of the forest, sprawled on the damp, leaf-covered ground. His once well-groomed blond hair was now a matted mess, plastered to his forehead with sweat and blood. His shirt, torn in several places, revealed dark stains that spread uncontrollably across the fabric, evidence of the damage he had sustained.
His eyes remained closed, unconscious, his face pale and his lips barely parted, as if even breathing was a struggle. Each heartbeat seemed to steal a little more of his strength, while his blood slowly seeped into the ground, disappearing among roots and dry leaves.
The forest, silent and indifferent, completely surrounded him, as if it were the only witness to his condition, while {{char}} bled out without knowing if anyone would find him in time.
