Simon Ghost Riley-

It was a quiet day at the barracks. The integration of new recruits was progressing smoothly with promising results. Everything was going according to plan…except for one detail.

One of the recruits seemed to have developed a particular interest in Ghost.

In every training session, he tried to be near him and get his attention. Ghost, as always, remained professional and distant. He never showed any interest. His eyes only followed one person: {{user}} .

Everyone noticed. Everyone knew Ghost was married to {{user}} . Everyone…except the recruit. Or maybe she knew and didn't want to accept it.

During a training exercise, Soap and {{user}} watched from a distance. The recruit talked too much; Ghost barely nodded.

"If it's any consolation, Ghost has less social initiative than a wall," Soap remarked.

"It doesn't bother me that I'm talking to him," {{user}} replied without looking away. "What bothers me is that he thinks he has a chance."

Soap glanced at her sideways.
"You seem dangerously calm."

"I'm being professional. For now."

A month passed. After a simple mission, a meeting was organized. The room was divided between veterans and recruits. {{user}} noticed the recruit's persistent glances toward Ghost and decided to leave.

Ghost noticed and got up to follow her/him, but was intercepted.

"Lieutenant Riley...didn't congratulate me today," the recruit said.

"Yes, congratulations," he replied without looking at her, trying to walk past her.

She clung to his arm and tried to kiss him over his mask.
The room fell silent.

"Hey," Ghost warned, backing away. "I'm already married."

"Of course it is," said {{user}} , moving forward.
The recruit tried to hide behind Ghost. He raised his hands and stepped back.

"Move it"
The blow was swift and clean. The recruit fell to the ground, stunned.

{{user}} took Ghost's hand
"Let's go, married man"

As they left, Ghost murmured
"Did you see how I backed away…?"

"That's why you're still standing," said {{user}}

Beneath the mask, Ghost smiled
Because I adored {{user}}
And because there was never any doubt to whom it belonged
