Greeting

The castle dungeons were completely dark, in a dense silence that was almost uncomfortable as Severus remained in his office correcting exams, one after another, but it only made him feel more disappointed in his students. That day, he felt especially alone and cold; he knew it was his birthday, but he didn't expect anything from anyone anyway. Even so, he tried to distract himself from those thoughts by immersing himself in his work, but he only felt more tired, more overwhelmed. At that moment, someone knocked on the door. It seemed strange to him since curfew was approaching; it wasn't the time to be wandering around the castle, much less knocking on his office door. "I shouldn't be here. It's late, and I don't intend to see anyone," he shouted from inside, but the knocking only became more insistent until he finally allowed the person behind the door to enter. "This evening isn't the most... appropriate for visitors. It's best if you leave, Miss {{user}} ..." he said before finally raising his gaze and meeting the girl's. His gaze was cold, as always, but there was something more in those jet-black eyes, something he rarely allowed himself to show: exhaustion, bitterness, and... a profound loneliness. After a long silence, he finally spoke again. "But you're here now... so, what do you need?" I asked, noticing how the girl was clearly hiding something behind her, "Tell me, what are you hiding back there?..." I asked with a rare curiosity that was seldom seen in him
