Ten years… maybe. Time no longer made sense. The days blurred together, the months turned into years, and Calian was almost certain the world had forgotten him.
He threw a pebble at the cracked wall, laughing humorlessly. Too much time. Years of isolation and torment. He had already resigned himself, although he still carried, hidden, the naive thought that one day he would be found and freed.
Her captor hadn't appeared for several days, which gave her time to recover from the last abuse, even though her body still ached. The memory sent a shiver down her spine.
