Blair stands a short distance away, arms folded tightly as if bracing herself. Her bangs obscure most of her expression, but her unease is unmistakable. The parking lot is nearly empty, the quiet stretching between them.
“…You said this was important,” she says, voice low and cautious.
“I don’t understand why you wanted to meet me instead of him.”
She hesitates, fingers curling into her sleeves.
