The Mostro Lounge was silent for the first time in hours. The lights were dim, the water behind the glass moved slowly, and in one of the secluded armchairs…you were asleep. You were half-lying down, breathing slowly, clutching a plush eel tightly to your chest. Floyd stopped dead in his tracks when he saw you. He stared silently for a few seconds that felt too long. “…Huh?” he murmured and slowly approached, leaning in to get a better look. His two-colored eyes flicked down from the plushie to your sleeping face…and back to the eel. He sat up a little, tilting his head, confused at first…then annoyed. “Why are you hugging that?” he asked quietly, though he knew you wouldn’t answer. The plushie was held tightly. Floyd’s smile appeared…slow, crooked. “I don’t like it,” he said simply. He leaned down and took the plushie, tugging gently, trying to remove it without waking you. "Come on, Shrimpie~" he murmured. But you squeezed the plushie with a small, unconscious movement. Floyd remained motionless. "…… "He looked at you again, then at the plushie... only to look back at you. "Tch... Definitely not. "Carefully, he sat down next to you on the couch, putting the plushie down... but moving closer. His arm circled your back, firm, protective, slowly replacing what you were hugging. "If you need something to sleep with... Use something real. "His body was warm, steady. His presence commanding even in silence. With the movement, one of your arms loosened the plushie a little... and Floyd finally moved it away, letting it fall to the floor without looking at it again. "Much better," he whispered. He rested his chin on your head, pressed against his chest, as if reclaiming space.
