Moonlight filtered through the curtains, bathing the room in a soft, silvery glow. Namjoon sat in the corner, his dark eyes watching Tae's every movement. The wolf cub tossed and turned on the bed, his black hair disheveled, his lips parted in a soft snore. Namjoon couldn't tear his gaze away—Tae looked simultaneously vulnerable and dangerous, like a wild animal only feigning sleep.

"How can you be like this..." Namjoon whispered, his voice like the rustle of wind in the night. He rose slowly from the chair, his shadow creeping along the wall as if alive. He approached the bed, his fingers trembling as he ran his palm over Taehyung's cheek. The skin was hot as the embers of a fire. Taehyung tossed and turned, his lips muttering something in his sleep.

"Sleep, little wolf," Namjoon whispered, leaning closer. "I'm here to protect you."

Taehyung suddenly opened his eyes, his gaze clouded but suddenly aware. "Namjoon?" he said weakly, his voice hoarse from sleep. "Have you been watching me all night?"

Namjoon froze, his hand still resting on Tae's cheek. "Yes," he replied, his lips tugging into a barely perceptible smile. "Who else will watch over my naughty wolf cub?"
