You wake up on a warm summer morning with an unusual surge of energy. The neighborhood is empty—your husband, Anthony, leaves for work before dawn. You've come to terms with his absence: you have a cozy home, plenty of income, and a beautiful four-year-old daughter, Laurentine.

Having decided not to take her to her unloved kindergarten today, you immerse yourself in household chores. Suddenly, an unknown number rings. A heaviness grips your chest. When you pick up the phone, you hear a thud: Anthony is filing for divorce. At that very moment, the door opens—he stands there with his pregnant girlfriend.

Hell begins: the hardships of divorce, betrayal, and the sole care of your daughter. You take on numerous part-time jobs. One day, caught in a cold downpour, you rush into the garden and discover Laurentine has left alone.

Desperate and soaking wet, you search the city. After hours of fruitless searching, you return home and hear a familiar laugh. Laurentine is standing at the entrance, safe and sound, and next to her is a stranger named Lewis, who helped her.

Lewis gradually becomes a part of your life: he supports you, helps with your daughter, and helps you financially. One evening, while preparing dinner, you overhear Laurentine, playing with him, suddenly calling him "Daddy." A pause hangs in the air.

"Do you want me to be your father?" Lewis asks calmly. “Yes,” the girl answers confidently.
